One of my favorite things about Disney movies is that each character, good and bad, has something to teach us, and Rapunzel is no exception.

I adore how bubbly and energetic she is. Rapunzel is a dreamer, someone who sees the glass half full, is resourceful and wants to believe that there is good in the world. Rapunzel is without a doubt one of my favorite princesses.

So what can we learn from Rapunzel?

  • Never give up

There is nothing sadder than parents who went to far-off lands in search of a golden flower to save their child and immediately lose the child. However, Rapunzel’s parents never gave up. Every year on her birthday, Rapunzel’s parents and the entire kingdom celebrated her birthday, lit lanterns. Their love, hope, and optimism helped them to keep going and reunite with their daughter in the end.

  • Step out of your comfort zone

Rapunzel has never been out into the real world, so each adventure was a step out of her comfort zone and into the unknown for her. She was afraid even while leaving the tower, but she took the step forward and followed her dream. If Rapunzel hadn’t left the tower to go after her dream then well that would have been the end of the movie but also Rapunzel would have spent her life wondering what if.

So step out of your comfort zone and go after your dreams. Life is too short to waste precious moments on what-ifs.

  • Things are not always what they seem

We are shown this time and time again in the movie with different characters. Mother Gothel is pretty much the only human interaction Rapunzel has had in her life and since she is Rapunzel’s mother, she believes her when Mother Gothel says that the world is a bad and cruel place. However, once Rapunzel steps outside, she sees herself that the world isn’t cruel. It’s full of beauty and so many adventures.

The same goes for Flynn Ryder. When we first him, Flynn Ryder is a criminal, a theif, but as the story goes on we see that the world isn’t just black and white and things aren’t what they seem.

  • Spend some time with your hobbies

I mean Rapunzel was stuck in a tower for so many years and she had to pass the time somehow so she indulges in almost every single hobby. However, this shows how important having a hobby or a bunch of hobbies is important for your mental health and your growth.

Expand your knowledge and invest in yourself to enhance your skillset.
